The Montessori Association of North Carolina (MANC) wishes to congratulate the Montessori Partnerships for Georgia for the great work they did to help the Georgia Professional Standards Commission adopt the Montessori teaching certificate they helped design.
The new Georgia certificate is open to anyone who holds a Montessori credential from a training program accredited by the Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (MACTE), passes the appropriate subject- area tests, and meets Georgia’s additional requirements.
The certificate will:
* Dramatically expand the hiring pool for Georgia public Montessori schools
* Ensure that public Montessori teachers have a baseline level of Montessori training
* Set the stage for an expansion of public Montessori schools across the state of Georgia
